Place
Florence Debeugny’s 9 photo prints polyptych “Interruption vitale / Fundamental Disruption” was inspired by the realization that having documented community buildings for 20 years it was time to explore the notion of land and territory. Entire forests covering BC Lower Mainland have been logged to allow buildings to stand. This artwork displays separate sections of different trees to outline people’s dissociation from the natural world and how humans fragment and reorganize the territory for economic reasons. It reminds us of the benefits to reconnect with our remaining forests and protect them before they become more fragmented.
“Interruption vitale / Fundamental Disruption” has been exhibited in the group show “Place”.
